Re: Is there a huge mimatch between demand and supply for freshers currently?

Hello,

Somehow the availability of the actuary students are more as compared to earlier.. but the new curriculum is trying to align the profession towards the different areas.

And by introducing new curriculum, we can expect the demand & supply on track soon :)
All the best !!

Re: Referral Hiring vs Talent Hiring?

Nothing..
For a recruiter what matter is the right candidature(skills, tools, exp, domain & many other things) until or unless resume is not carrying what we are looking for it hardly matters from where are we getting it.. :)

Re: City Biasedness.

Hi, As per my experience, such cases only happens at interns/Management Trainees level.. The basic reason is stipend & the cost of living which is very high. So just to avoid that financial pressure companies avoid to hire such cases from outside. And let's suppose if they hire someone from outside ...

Hello Pooja, You can check my revert on "Acknowledgment" in the initial queries.. See as a recruiters we also have some limitations like companies don't prefer to higher fresher from outside (3rd party). They prefer to get freshers or Trainee by their own, where we really can not help.. Now your qu...

Re: The myth of Over-qualification..

Hi, I think we all need to understand one thing i.e. papers & exp. goes hand in hand. As 10-15 years back "Actuary" was not a boom, so the Grads. students on that time did not clear much exams if you compared to the current scenario. And the candidates heard the word "Overqualified" from the Recruit...

Re: What different field are Actuaries being hired now a days?

Hi,

As an aspirant or a qualified actuary should take up any work which requires quant. Actuarial science is not all about Insurance it is about risk which can be quantified and used in transactions of financial nature.
