About The Team This position is part of the Actuarial Services team in Bangalore. This specific role will exclusively support the Marine Reinsurance team and its actuarial function. The Marine actuarial team works very closely with the reinsurance underwriters and provides high quality services to the global team. The job covers all aspects of the pricing function, from modeling of models to renewal support. About The Role  
  • Analyze and Update of the Marine costing parameters (Loss index, Rate changes, Market Loss ratio, Marine port data)
  • Manage Marine exposure data (such as Energy Platform data, Port Accumulation database), design normalized databases for easy and fast data access as well as management
  • Implement Automation for various activities like data extraction or report extraction, BI solutions (Power Pivot etc.)
  • Produce and validate the reports for the Global Marine team (Claims/Premium Business Objects (BO - XI) reports, Nat Cat Steering report, GOM capacity, Actual-versus-Expected etc.).
  • Provide actuarial support to Global Marine during renewal periods (Asia Hub, Munich etc.)
  • Support the development and the update of the Marine Reinsurance costing tools (Treaty and FAC): assist with actuarial studies, generate reports using queries or VBA, UAT testing and documentation.
  • Provide training to underwriters on treaty costing/pricing tools
About You 
  • University degree in numerate/scientific discipline/Engineering with 1-4 years of professional experience
  • Experience in (re)/insurance, knowledge of statistics or actuarial science would be an added advantage
  • Experience in MS Excel, MS Access, VBA, SQL, exposure to database designing.
  • Nice to have MS BI and .Net experience
  • Good oral and written communication skills, fluency in English is must
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • A self-starter and able to solve problems and develop solutions
  • Inquisitive, proactive and willing to learn
  • The candidate may choose to study for recognized actuarial examinations or other relevant exams.
  • Willingness to travel if required
